Sadly i've quit a guild or 2 because they have crap capes... annoys me over time.

So I am now a one man guild, only because I haven't found anyone competent enough. To hold my life... in their hands...

I prefer the non cape look to the cape look now. The novelty's worn off. I think we should be allowed to wear crowns and gun holsters instead *__*

What would be really cool would be a guild hat, ranging from Berets to Stetsons (a cowboy hat, just in case), and crowns if you want one. I don't think a hat would be quite as frustrating as capes can get after countless hours of nonstop playing

And, I kinda wanna see my Mesmer in a Cowboy hat, be pretty funny

I'm holding a one-man guild right now. I wouldn't mind disbanding mine to join another. It's just hard to tell which guild is truly worth joining and if they fit into my playing style or not.

I have no problem with one-man guilds. Who are we to deprive them of their fun? However, if some of their idea of fun is to be totally smashed in the Tombs or GvG, I don't know what to say. Who knows, after everything is settled, they might even band up to form a larger one.

Having your own guilds in a "world" so large is self-satisfying, and I see no problem in it. What I have a problem with is players recruiting because they have a pretty cape and THAT is the only reason they give for joining. If more players stated their intentions in the game (We're PVE or PVE/PVP or we want to kill everyone in PVP, or we help new members, so join us) maybe they'd be more successful.

Eventually, many of these individuals will join larger guilds and learn what the experience is about. But sadly, most will spend their time trying to recruit instead of trying to ascend, without giving new players a reason to join.

all you have to do is go to the guild register pay a couple hundred gold
pick the name and if not taken or obscene it is yours

cape and hall can come later but for now when you click the guild tab on the menu it shows the guild name with you as leader

I can't even begin to count how many times I've seen "(GENERIC GUILD NAME INVOLVING ANGELS, DARKNESS, DEATH, OR OWNAGE) RECRUITING! HAVE KOOL (yes, spelled with a K) CAPES AND A GUILD HALL!"

And you'd expect "WE'RE ACTIVE IN PVE AND/OR PVP!"

But no! That's it, that's all they give.

'We have a kool cape and guild hall!'

Holy shit that sounds like a winner right there.
